Named after two nearby villages (Banka Yi and Banka Er) in Menglian, Banka is the washing station where these coffee cherries are harvested.

Banka coffees are hand-picked, run through a (wet) optical color sorter and then fermented in cherries for two days. During the drying process, the cherries are placed inside a solar dryer on raised beds for around 20 days. Once the cherries are dried, they are bagged and taken to Pu’er city for hulling at a high-end mill.
