It sits at 985 metres on a steep north-easterly slope, run by Mac Machaiah, who has supplied South India Coffee Company for four seasons. Most of the estate’s lots are washed or honey, with a few of the best blocks kept back as naturals.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCoorg is better known for robusta, grown in the warm, humid shade of the Western Ghats among pepper, cardamom and orange trees. Arabica does well in its cooler, higher pockets, and Crystal Valley is one of them, planted with Selection 9, S795 and Catuai types.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is a red honey: after pulping, a good share of mucilage stays on the bean.
