Origin

Established in the early 1900’s, Muthian Thota Estate is currently run by 4th generation coffee planter, Mr. G.G. Rajendra Kumar. The plantation focuses on cultivating shade-grown Arabica with its own wet mill and drying yards. Coffee is cultivated harmoniously with nature at this wildlife-friendly plantation which is home to shade trees of over a 100 years old.

Coffee cherries are picked and brought back from the drying yard, followed by a final round of garbling to remove unripe coffees. The cherries are then floated, before passing through the pulper and getting washed. The parchment is then sent to the drying yards where it is raked regularly and dried until it reaches 11 - 12% moisture level.
