Foreword started out as a hole-in-a-wall cafe at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2017. With a vision of empowering persons with disabilities & special needs through employment opportunities, coffee became our vehicle for change. As we continue to progress “forward” by expanding our range of food and services, we stand firm on our commitment towards inclusive practices.

Foreword is proud to be one of six recipients of the inaugural Enabling Mark (Platinum) Award organised by SG Enable in August 2021.
The Enabling Mark is a national-level accreditation framework by SG Enable that benchmarks and recognises organisations for their best practices and outcomes in disability-inclusive employment.

As of 2022, Foreword joined 4,500 businesses worldwide as a certified B-Corporation. Together, the community strives towards an inclusive equitable, and regenerative economy.
As the 17th B-corp certified business in Singapore, the environmental and social impact of Foreword spans across five segments - governance, workers, community, environment and customers.
Bean to Cup Experience
Traceability and transparency are important to us in our coffee supply chain. Hence, we directly source our coffee beans from Asia, including China, Laos, Thailand and Indonesia.
By going direct to the source, we cut out the middlemen and higher earnings are channeled to the smallholder farmers in Asia.

Caring for the Environment
We support environmental sustainability by encouraging the BYO movement, choosing eco-friendly packaging and reducing the use of disposables. That is why we opt for PLA cups & PHA straws instead of plastic at our cafes. FSC-certified paper is also our go-to for packaging, while our coffee bags are certified home compostable by TÜV AUSTRIA.
